Playing for the University of Denver in 2010-11, he was the WCHA Rookie of the Year, and was also named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and 2nd All-Star Team. Zucker signed his entry-level contract with the Wild on March 27, 2012, and made his NHL Debut in a victory against the Florida Panthers on March 29, 2012.

Paul’s older brother Yan has played for the Boston Bruins, the Edmonton Oilers, the St. Louis Blues and the Vancouver Canucks, and his uncles Anton and Marian Stastny both played in the NHL during the 1980s, also for the Nordiques franchise.

He is best known for being a two-way forward, winning the Selke Trophy in 2011 after having finished as a finalist the previous two years, as well as for his agitating style of play.

He spent four years playing college hockey before turning professional with the Panthers organization in 2006–07. After recording career-highs in goals, assists and points, as well as being voted the Panthers’ most valuable player by the team’s fans in 2008–09, he suffered two concussions the following season. During his sixth year with the Panthers, Booth was traded to the Canucks in October 2011.
