NARCh FINALS Postponed to Aug/Sept

by Daryn Goodwin

It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to postpone the NARCh FINALS.  We put in a great amount of energy and effort to make this tournament happen.  We know players, coaches, and parents were very excited about the event and just want to play.

Nobody can predict the future and when we announced on June 4th that we felt confident about the tournament, our nation was in a different place in terms of Covid-19.  States had re-opened and cases were decreasing.  Now, a month later, we’ve gone backwards in our progress so much that it makes this tournament impossible to pull off.   Governor Newsome just announced today that indoor facilities have to close immediately.

We did everything in our power to make this tournament happen and we’re honestly devastated.  Even earlier this week we felt good about the tournament and had conversations with the County Sherriff's Department, County Health Department, City of Corona, and Corona Police Department.

Corona Inline has been great to work with and did everything in their powers to safely host the NARCh FINALS.  The facility is extremely clean, and they have a great system in place to provide a safe environment.  We look forward to working with them in the near future.

It’s been a tough 2020 so far for everyone.  The roller hockey community has been hit extremely hard.   We are hopeful that we are in a better spot in the upcoming weeks and we can still host the event sometime in August or September.

We are very passionate about the sport and hope that your team will join us when we are able to get back to doing what we love.   NARCh has been around for 27 years and we will be back stronger than ever as soon as we can.
