Good Morning from Sunny SoCal

It’s only 9:00AM and it’s already a beautiful, sunny, 65° day here at the Irvine Inline rink. With a total of 96 teams hailing from all throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and British Columbia competing in this weekends event the rinks filling up quickly this morning and we’re expecting a packed house all weekend.

Peewee games are kick starting the first day of the tournament playing for the majority of the morning followed up by Bantams and Squirts. A few Peewee teams really began to separate themselves from the 18-team division from the very beginning. NCR Tour Elite deafeated Notion 6-0, 2K Gong Show defeated Delta Force Elite 8-3, and the Tour Mudcats defeated the Outcasts by a final score of 8-0. Plenty of more Peewee games to come this morning before players and parents alike get an opportunity to head to the beach and spend some time in the SoCal sun or stick around the rink for the afternoon to watch some of the top teams and top players from around the country.

Heading the media crew this weekend, Itan Chivira has already caught plenty of back and forth games, top-shelf snipes, and dirty dangles. Itan also said, “I’ve already seen plenty of acrobatic saves from a few goaltenders,” which can only make games more interesting.

The Midgets, Junior’s, Men’s, and Pro divisions all begin shortly after dinnertime tonight and with 10 teams in Midgets, 7 teams in Junior’s, 6 in Men’s Gold, and 4 in the Men’s Platinum/Pro division the nights guaranteed to be jam-packed with close games and lots of action.

Make sure to check back for updated blogs with scores, summaries, and stories from all the closet games throughout the weekend.
