The alarm rang early today.

This morning came so quick for us at NARCh. It seemed like I was just leaving the rink when my alarm started buzzing in my ear...well, that was because I actually had just left the rink. The games ran until late into the night and the morning seemed to only start a few hours later. The life of Tournament Director for the World's Greatest Roller Hockey can lack sleep at times, but it is still a ton of fun.
Last night the Men's wrapped the night up with a couple good games. In Men's Gold Mini Me and Phil played a tough game with 1 goal being the difference. I could see those teams facing each other again in the playoffs. The team formerly known as Team Fooz, Team Crosscheck, beat Skaterz last night in one of the last games of the night. Crosscheck is coming off of last year's NARCh Championship in the Men's Gold Division. They have a tough team that also has a ton of talent. The Men's Gold division here is really strong.
One of the things that is making this weekend special is the many out of town faces. We got to see the Tennessee Vipers take the floor this morning. The Vipers organization sent a few teams and the kids are all loving the fun. The Bellings are always here for the NARCh Regionals, they travel in from Iowa. The weather from Iowa to here was pretty rough, but we are glad they are here. The idea of traveling is still something that I feel helps teams and players grow as a hockey player. I am glad to see some new faces.
Gary Delveccio is here from USA Hockey Inline. It's always good to see someone out there actually trying to build the sport. Delveccio is here for the weekend and you can see him today at All American. USA Hockey Inline is the official Insurance and Rules provider of NARCh.
Today is a huge day for St. Louis Blues fans. St. Louisan Cam Janssen will be at All American signing autographs today from Noon to 2 pm. Cam has played roller hockey before and his actual home rink is All American. Janssen was a trade deadline day pick-up for the Blues that brought a lot of excitement to the fans. Nothing beats watching a St. Louis boy play for the hometeam and beat up the competition. Make sure to come by All American today and meet Cam Janssen.
As always you can feel free to email me at ivmackie@yahoo.com. Stay tuned for more updates from the central portion of the United States. Where people are friendly and the hockey is great!
