Making a difference...

I am at All American right now having a conversation with Gary Delveccio from USA Hockey Inline. We are talking about what is going on in St. Louis and how the sport is doing. The good thing is that we have seen the lowest of lows in St. Louis and we are now making a comeback. The sport is excelling at a few of the local rinks. We are seeing the new player coming from other sports like soccer and baseball. I was in the office updating some scores when a family came in to register at All American. They had two boys ready to play, but Quincy kept talking to the little brother about playing. By the end of the registration the young boy was already talking about playing here. We have people in St. Louis trying to build the sport. That is a good thing.

Cam Janssen, from the St. Louis Blues, was here signing autographs and chatting with everyone. Cam was a great sport and seemed to really enjoy talking to the young fans. If you haven't had a chance to see Janssen play then you are missing an energetic player. Cam makes things happen with his fists and his hitting. Today he was nothing but a gentleman. One of the big topics with him was the fact that he played roller hockey at All American and played NARCh. That fact is really cool for the players to hear. They can see the results if they play this game. Another topic that Cam enjoyed talking about was Pat Maroon. Pat is the golden boy in St. Louis. He is currently playing for the Philadelphia Phantoms in the AHL playoffs. Nothing like having two St. Louis homeboys making huge strides in the game of hockey.

The day keeps rolling along in St. Louis. We keep watching great hockey at both rinks and the best is yet to happen. Make sure to keep up to date with more on the World's Greatest Roller Hockey...NARCh.
