Winding Down
| Last Day of WInternationals.
Winding Down
We’re on the home stretch of what has been a great East Coast WInternationals. Midget and Junior Semis are going on now. In the first Midget Gold Semi the 495ers just upset the Gladiators, so they’re awaiting the winner of the Roadrunners and Speed V20 from North Carolina, who have made an impressive NARCh Debut.
The Men’s Platinum Semi’s this morning were both great games. The short-handed Bears gave the Philadelphia Liberty all they could handle, but the Liberty still prevailed 4-3. As good as that game was, the other semi was even more exciting, as the Nightmare and Suffolk Sting went to overtime. It was a very evenly matched tilt, but the Nightmare pulled it out in OT . Should be a great final as the Liberty and Nightmare tied their round robin game.
In 35’s we have a similar situation, as Micheal Hunt’s Rink Rat team will be facing the Rockets led by yours truly. Playing against Mike is always a blast, and I’m sure we will battle hard but have a lot of laughs during the game. We tied in the round robin on a fluke goal by Mike that went off my stick about 25 feet out and went end over end dipping past the heads of everyone and somehow finding the back of the net. If you ask Mike though it was a rocket….lol. I’d give them the slight advantage on paper, due mostly to the fact that they have 8 skaters and we only have 5, but the 5 we have are a little more balanced than we’ve been in the past. Win or lose, it will be a lot of fun and there will be a lot of smack talking before, during, and after this one.
Look for a write up wrapping it all up this afternoon.
If you were here, we hope you had fun and hope you start planning ahead of time for the big show in San Jose this summer!
