Fun at the Finals -
PeeWee Club Division
| I am an assistant coach on the St. Louis Tour Blast, and just wanted to tip my hat to the coaches and kids from two of the teams we played in the PeeWee club division, the Stingrays, and Team Hawaii.
The guys from team Hawaii were just really great. Our guys hung out with the Hawaii guys during skills competition, and had a great time. The tradition they have of the gift bag for the opposing team is wonderful. That would be a nice tradition to spread. I'm trying to think of what would be in ours: Budweiser, and toasted ravioli? (You have to know St. Louis to get it...)
We met up with the Stingrays before our first game, and kept track of how each other was doing throughout the tournament. The 'kicker' though was when the players from the Stingrays came to watch our Squirt club team in their championship game. They were cheering and getting as silly as we were watching the game. Great group of kids. Those parents and coaches should be proud.
The fact that these two teams met up in the championship, AND it went to overtime, is just the icing on the cake! Hope to see them both next year!
