Fastest Skater 2 Years In A Row...What goes through your head.
Bantam Gold Division Fastest Skater. 2 Years in a row.

My 1st NARCh experience was in Estero, Fl. in 2001 when the finals was 1st held at Teco Arena. I had no idea what kinda of competition I would be going against or nor did I know a thing about the fastest skater comp.

Going into the competition I was a nervous wreck thinking that I didn't want to let my family or my team down because it meant so much to me. I ended up losing that year to a very quick 86' from the Las Vegas Titans. I then swore I would never lose that competition again as long as I was participating in the NARCh finals.

The next year my team broke apart and I soon found myself on the Motor City Rollerdogs playing out of Detroit at DRHA. Quickly this team turned into one of the championship teams in the facility along with our rivals the Tour Bordercat 87's.

Minnesota came quick and I was very zoned on winning the fastest skater. I even made bets with teammates because they all doubted me themselves. Once again I found myself in the Finals in St. Paul racing against another 86 from the San Diego Gulls from CA. I felt I was having a case of Deja Vu & the same result was going to come. Next thing I knew I was crossing the finish line ahead of my competition and I just looked up at the sky in victoy, not believing that I had actually won.

Once again another year flew by and the NARCh finals came quick again in Florida. I had hoped it would be held at Teco Arena again so I could redeem my past loss. Going into this competition was very different from the others though. I went into this one full out y. I even bet teammates again but bet against myself, telling them that I gaurentee at least 2nd place.

For a 3rd time I found myself in the finals in the Bantam Gold Division against Brandon Boyd of the Mission Wave out of Fl. Knowning that he had already won the fastest skater in the Peewee gold division made me want to win even more because there was no way I was letting him go home with 2 fastest skater titles in the same year. My team was watching every race from the stands and saying "FALL" everytime I came around the net knowing that they were going to owe me some money once the day was over.

I heard the final race whistle go and took off as fast as I could. Crossing the other side of the rink I could see that he wasn't far behind me. Using all the energy I had left in my body I pushed around the final turn and saw that I was well ahead of my opponent and closed the deal on the race. Once again I had won the fastest skater & having a fellow Detroiter win the Sniper Comp. just made it that much better knowing that Detroit is one of the most competitive regions of the country for hockey.

So next year wherever the NARCh finals are held, you better believe you will see me there going for my 3-peat.
