All I Can Say Is "WOW"
| Proud to be a roller hockey mom.
After starting out in a house league and just by a fluke my son ended up on an "open" team. What a world of difference that made! Thanks to a wonderfully talented coach and skillful players, I can say without reservations that we have a great team. We started with a core group of kids a few years ago and built on that. And, while sometimes I do not think we get the kudos we deserve, we are at least treated with respect by the people who truly know and understand the game of "roller hockey".
We are a first year Pee-Wee team and over the past couple of years have continuously played "up" a division in order to compete at a higher level. We have played many regionals and finals, and I have to say that NARCh (regionals and finals) has always and will always be our favorite. The competition is fierce but being able to play in many different states against the "best of the best" is just a rush that's hard to come by.
So it's not a "miracle" that we have been able to compete against the "bigger, older and faster" teams, nor (as one writer put it) is it that "somehow" we were able to keep winning (in order to make it to the playoffs). These boys practice hard and play hard. They are good at what they do and I am proud to say that I am a Team Hyper 89 Mom!!!
I would like to give kudos to the many, many teams we have played, starting with the teams that are just beginning right up to the best of the best. It continues to be a great learning experience. Kudos to DRHA and their staff as well. You run the roller hockey programs at Dumars well!
And last, but not least, I would like to thank Coach Ray, Coach Mark, Coach Mike, Andrew B., Danny, Josh, Currey,Andrew D., Johnny, Alan, Mark, Chad and Brett, and all the parents who have given so much of their time (not to mention money) to support such a fun and talented team!! You guys ROCK!
