Brit Players Win Double Gold Honours
Simon Hughes and Dan Taylor of the Projoy Undertakers (midget) and Desert Rats (Junior) win gold in both age groups!
Both the midget and junior divisions were very competitive, all games having tight low scores.

Although they didn't win by a margin of more than one goal and having a close game against the Brighton Tigers. The Undertakers managed to win all of their group games. Simon Hughes consistently scoring and the whole team looked very impressive. Advancing to the final where they would face the North Wiltshire Vikings, who they had just managed to beat in their first group game with Mark Corfield scoring the winner with just two seconds left on the clock. The final though, was quite different. Vikings took and early lead scoring two goals within the first five minutes. Then the undertakers came alive, fighting hard to pull it back. In the end undertakers ran away with the game winning 6 - 2 over the Vikings!

The juniour division, with both Hughes and Taylor playing up for the Desert rats. In their first group game the Rats met the mighty Time2shine team who looked impressive. Time2shine took an early two goal lead and looked as if they'd win it but with just two minutes left on the clock. T2S took tough penalities and the Rats managed to tie the game with two outstanding power play goals. The first from Dan Taylor and Andy Skelding getting the final equaliser with just 20 seconds to go.

On the second day, the Rats were missing some key players and had to change golies. They had a tough game against the Renegades but once again with Taylor and Hughes coming up with big goals the game finshed tied 3-3. Meaning Rats would advace to the final to once again meet Time2shine. Time2shine looked the better team, but the game was closly fought. Hughes again scoring a huge goal for the Rats. Nearing the end of the game the score was tied 2-2. Until the T2S golie slipt up, fumbling a wrist shot from Daniel Pearson. T2S fought back hard but couldn't manage to score. Final result! Desert Rats winning 3-2 over Time2shine.

So I'm not sure if this has ever happened in any other regional, but both Simon Hughes and Dan Taylor went home with not one but TWO gold regional medals!

Both well deserved!!!!!
